How to secure your email distribution with Salesforce’ CRM solution

Data-driven business Epical

There is a common recurring issue that many companies are facing and don’t really know how to solve. It’s about email security and how to ensure that the emails you are sending are received successfully. This could be your monthly newsletter, delivery notification or customer case comment sent out, for example from your Salesforce CRM tool.

Successful email distribution has become even more important nowadays with increased levels of digital customer interactions and higher demand on security.

Salesforce is a technology provider for tailored service, marketing and sales solutions and supports several email security mechanisms. A good starting point is to strengthen your email security by setting up the Salesforce Domain Key Identity Management service, DKIM. Salesforce does not present your company’s email address in your distributed emails by default.

The main advantages for your customers are that they:
  • get to see your company’s email address in the email header
  • get the emails far more likely directly into their email inboxes rather than in the spam folder

Once DKIM is in place, keep in mind that in addition e-mail filtering settings need to be adjusted by your IT department.
